Defining and customizing machine translation engines for individual customers

Warning

Prerequisite: Contact your administrator to enable the Machine Translation engine using this guide.

Tip

Use this guide to determine whether or not to assign MT engines at the customer or project level.

  1. From the customer list, edit the customer with the Settings option.

  2. Scroll down to the Machine Translation section.

  3. Select the Machine Translation engine by clicking on the respective checkbox.

    Important

    Every machine translation engine has its own unique custom settings.

  4. Optionally, you can define custom settings for each selected engine.

    Tip

    Use this guide when using Multiple MT engines in the same customer or project.

  5. Scroll down to the Use MT options dropdown. The three options are:

    1. Don't Display:

      1. Use System Default settings and don't display the Use MT Options dropdown in any project using this customer.

    2. System Default (Default)

      1. Keep the global system wide settings configured by the Administrator.

    3. Custom Settings

      1. Override the global settings using this guide as a reference.Machine translation options

  • Machine translation engine list:

    • By default, a list of machine translation engines that are available will appear with check boxes beside their name.

      Note

      If a machine translation engine does not appear, contact your XTM Administrator and have them enable the vendor to use this procedure.

    • Select the machine translation engine to use with this project by checking the box beside their name.

      Note

      Consult this guide if using multiple MT engines

  • Use MT Options:

    • Don't display

    • System default:

      • The default MT options configured by your XTM Administrator are applied.
